JIAXI HAN
Jiaxi Han (born 1993) was raised in Guizhou, southwest China. She completed her undergraduate degree in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2017 and went on to pursue a Double Degree Master’s program between Hong Kong Baptist University (Master of Visual Arts) and Zurich University of the Arts (Master of Transdisciplinary Studies), graduating in 2021. She currently lives in Switzerland and frequently travels to China and Spain.
Jiaxi Han’s work spans various mediums, including writing, artist books, textiles, and photography. The landscape, ethnic heritage, and cultural crafts of her hometown have profoundly influenced her work. Her artistic practice takes a puristic approach to themes of time, language, poetry, and nature. Traveling between Europe and China, she explores the interaction of different languages, cultures, and temporalities.
Currently, she is a participant in the "What’s Next" Program, sponsored by the City of Zurich and the Righini Fries Foundation. Her work has been exhibited in Hong Kong, Zurich, and Athens.
