Nadja Aellig, born 1980 in Liestal, Switzerland, studied textile design and art education in Lucerne and Basel. In her artistic work she uses different media to condense atmosphere by combining inner and outer images. In an intuitive process and a gradual development of form, she approaches the visibility of the inner image. Recurring themes in her work are vulnerability and fragility.

Her many years of involvement with contemporary dance have shaped her perception and also influence the content of her artistic work. For example, movement qualities and sensory impressions are inspiration for her visual research. In her work she explores the space between inner and outer landscapes, between the body and the space surrounding it.
